Joomla is the best overall Content Management System (CMS). It also has plenty of add-ons that increase site functionality. If you've heard of Wordpress, Drupal, Concrete, or any other system, then you know basically what Joomla can do. A CMS needs someone who knows how to use it in order for it to work properly, and Passive Ninja knows what it takes to create both simple and complex Joomla sites.
I was reading a forum post about ASP.Net wherein the person making the post wanted ideas to tell his boss why ASP is better than Joomla. However, the responders could not help him out. People use ASP because it seems like if you buy something, it has to be better. I've used free versions of just about every type of CMS, word processor, video editor, etc. I can tell you that there are some differences between those and the paid programs. I can't tell you that the differences are generally worth it. If I can do 90% of what I want using Gimp instead of Photoshop, I'm a satisfied customer. It's really more about finding the people who can work with the free tools, and those aren't always going to be graduates of colleges or people who have worked using the paid tools their entire careers. Passive Ninja uses mostly free tools.
Joomla offers so many extensions that it can do pretty much whatever the high-priced web development software can do, and it can do it from anywhere. It has a lot more to offer than the basic hello world Wordpress site you might have set up back in the day (Wordpress itself offers a lot more than that today). However, business owners and ASP developers are still wary of making a mistake. If it's a mistake to save thousands of dollars, then it's one that you should consider.
If you are here because you're trying to upgrade a site from an older Joomla build, contact Passive Ninja about the process. We've updated dozens of sites from 1.0 to 1.5 to 2.5 and now to 3.x Joomla sites.
